Like professionals in any industry, your probability for success increases with education. Rise SC is committed to developing our players by having the most talented and qualified coaches lead our players and oversee our program. We firmly believe that better coaches = better players. We have recently made some massive additions to our professional Coaching Staff to continue to help our young athletes reach their goals.

Natalia Astrain – Girls Director / Girls DA Director
Licence: UEFA Pro
Natalia is one of the most highly decorated female coaches in the world. In all of Europe, only 65 women held a UEFA Pro license while 9,387 men did. Natalia has coached boys and girls/women at some of the top professional clubs in the world like FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. While at FC Barcelona she was awarded the “Coach of the Year” by the committee of Catalan Coaches.

James Kelly – Recreational Director
Licence: UEFA B (in progress)
James started his his playing career progressing through the ranks at Scottish Premier League side St. Johnstone F.C. In 2009, James relocated to the U.S. and became the Director of Coaching at Newtown Soccer Club in Connecticut. Then in 2015 James relocated to the Houston area to work with the Houston Dynamo where he and working with the U11 and U15 Development Academy teams respectively. James transitioned into the Director of Training Programs role at Houston Dynamo working alongside his staff to create a community-driven camp and training programs to benefit youth players in the greater Houston area.

Omar Villatoro – Director of Coaching, Pearland Campus
Licence: USSF A
Welcome back Omar! Omar brings major soccer credentials to the Pearland/Shadow Creek area. Omar previously oversaw the recreational program at Houston Express which resulted in the production excellent players many of which flawlessly transitioned into the clubs competitive program offering. Omar is currently the lead instructor for United States Soccer Federation “D” and “E” License Courses and also coaches in the prestigious Olympic Development Program. Omar is bilingual and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas and a B.S. in Kinesiology and Sport Studies from the University of Houston.
