RISE Rec ADVANCED

Rise Programs  /  RISE Rec ADVANCED

Birth Years 2015 (U4) - 2014 (U5)

The Jr. Rec ADVANCED program for our youngest players is led exclusively by RISE SC professionally licensed Coaching Staff. Instead of the weekly game format, RISE SC uses Friday UpRISE nights (FUN) to introduce and emphasize fundamental skills to our youngest athletes via our curriculum-based, developmental program. During these once weekly, hour-long sessions, the emphasis is on fun and age-appropriate activities that encourage the development of basic soccer skills. RISE SC staff coaches will be on hand to coordinate all player activities. Why do we not have games for these ages? We believe that in an uncontrolled game environment, athletic kids can dominate solely by relying on their athletic ability. We want to provide an engaging learning environment for all of our players where they can grow socially while building a solid technical foundation that will give them the best opportunity to find success in the game regardless of their athletic ability. In a controlled training environment, our coaches staff can easily manipulate exercises to challenge players individually of every skill level.

Birth Years 2013 (U6) - 2007 (U11/U12)

The Rec ADVANCED program is led by RISE SC professionally licensed coaches. Players born in 2013 (U6) and older will have 2 pool training sessions per week with a low coach to player ratio and a game on the weekend. Parents will be able to select their player's training days (M/W or T/Th) and location. In this program, Parent Volunteer Team Managers are also encouraged to work closely with our Coaching Staff to assist them if needed. Volunteer Parent Team Managers will lead the games on the weekend. RISE Coaching Staff will be present at recreational games to make sure things flow appropriately.

The Rec ADVANCED program allows our coaches to focus more on individual player development. Players who would benefit from the Rec ADVANCED are passionate about the game and dedicated to improving their technical ability. Rec ADVANCED players will try to excel in a challenging environment by showing the willingness to learn and compete. Will this be fun? Absolutely! Players who choose this program should be committed to making a majority, if not all of their team's training and games. Rec ADVANCED teams will value the training environment, player opportunities, and professional coaching oversight. These teams will play games against the teams in the Rec and Rec ADVANCED Program but there will be both team and individual player opportunities outside of those games. This program is designed as a pathway for the player that has ambition to eventually play at the top competitive levels.

While it is understood that the Rec ADVANCED model is an upgrade and more competitive in nature than the traditional Rec format, it is important for our families to understand that this is not a competitive program.

Developing Skilled and Creative Players

There are no shortcuts to player development; success requires a long term approach and commitment. Player success is directly correlated to the player environment a young athlete is exposed to. RISE SC provides it’s Rec ADVANCED players with a fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where our professionally licensed coaching staff helps players develop their technical skills in ways that encourage players to express their individual creativity without the fear of making mistakes. The RISE Rec ADVANCED model encompasses both formal and creative learning methods to accomplish these goals. The Rec ADVANCED Program is designed to help the growth and development of young players both socially and technically so they are prepared to advance within the game at the level they desire.

Formal Learning - Fundamental Skills

The RISE Rec ADVANCED Program focuses on individual skill development, building confidence in players and maximizing player creativity by allowing kids to learn the game gradually in a fun, engaging environment. Our Coaching Staff wants players to feel comfortable and confident when they have the ball at their feet. To accomplish this, our coaches will help players build a strong fundamental skill foundation seasonally, by introducing proper ball-handling basics and technique through a series of age-appropriate activities that will grow progressively.

Creative Learning - Street Soccer

The street soccer concept is a learning method that emerged from playing soccer in the street. This informal and unstructured play format was essentially a neighborhood pickup game where any player could simply just jump in and play. By introducing street soccer to our weekly recreational programming, the RISE SC Coaching Staff will have the flexibility to mix players together by their play levels, regardless of their genders and age groups. This format will keep the games fresh, meaningful and engaging for our players.
