Rise and Grind Pre-Season Camp, July 17-20

Competitive Program - Players on Elite Teams Only

The Rise & Grind Pre-Season Camp is an intense “team camp” for 2007 (U11) – 1999 (U19) Elite level teams. Soccer is one of the most physically demanding sports due to the amount of movement a player’s body has to do and the lack of recovery time during and between games. We have adopted an approach to preparation that will improve player performance. It is important that we prepare our elite teams to have the competitive edge through tactical preparation for early season games.

The training circuit for our Rise & Grind Pre-Season Camp consists of exercises that mimic the most common movements a player will encounter during competition to help strengthen less commonly used muscles and prevent injuries due to repetitive movements. The primary tools we will use to better prepare our players for the demands of the game are the TRX frames, speed ladders, medicine balls and good old fashioned running. Expect a high intensity workout, that will wear you down, but prepare you for the season opener.

TRX (Total Resistance eXercise) is an approach to bodyweight training that is based on the concept of suspension training. TRX exercises are designed principally to provide a full body, multi-planar workout that is perfect for sports such as soccer. By using gravity and the weight of your own body as resistance tools, the TRX Trainer helps to effectively build strength, balance, flexibility and core stability that is directly transferable to the soccer pitch.

Many of the elite soccer clubs in the world, such as Liverpool FC, Manchester City, AC Milan, Corinthians, Santos FC, the German National Team and US Men’s and Women’s National Teams train with TRX suspension systems.

Futsal, Fitness & Finishing (F3) Camp, Dec. 19-22, Multiple Locations

Competitive Program

Futsal is the official five-a-side game recognized by FIFA that forces players to utilize skill rather than size or power. Games are played in a fast-pace environment with four field players and one goalkeeper. Futsal uses a weighted size 3.5 ball to emphasize control and precise touches to develop foot skills. The game is played on a hard-court surface with no walls or surrounding boards. In order for players to play at the highest levels, players need to maintain a high level of comfort with the ball by their feet. According to a FIFA report, in an average 40-minute futsal contest, a player will touch the ball roughly every 30 seconds and have an average of 80 touches per game. In comparison, during a 90-minute full-field outdoor soccer game, a player averages 30-40 touches. The futsal portion of the camp is designed to build a strong technical foundation for players to utilize as they grow.

Soccer is a physically demanding game that requires a great level of physical fitness. During games players are constantly moving in different directions at different rates of speed. The game is also much more physical so it is important that players develop a strong core and upper body. During the fitness part of this camp, players will work with ropes, medicine balls, speed ladders and a variety of other tools to test their will.

Scoring goals isn’t easy. The movement, the final ball and the finish have to be precise. At our finishing session you will learn some new moves, how to approach the ball, and how to strike it to improve your chances to finish. You will be tested from every angle and distance. You will have to use both feet. You’ll get served balls on the ground and in the air. Our coaches help you improve your technique so you can make an impact. Goalkeeper specific training will be offered.
