For Boys and Girls U4-U12
Available at RISE Central (West U / Bellaire Area) and RISE Southwest (Missouri City) training locations
RISE Recreational is available to boys and girls born 2021 (U4) to 2013 (U12) of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced! RISE Rec offers consistent, age-appropriate training led by RISE Player Development Coaches with limited assistance from parent volunteers. The program offers an engaging training environment designed to help players develop a strong technical foundation and reach a higher level of play. Licensed coaches lead weekly pool/group training sessions with a low player-to-coach ratio and a focus on individual player development. Parent volunteer Team Managers will manage U6-U12 weekend games.
Season Dates:
Bonus pre-season Skill Sessions for our earliest registrants! Register early to be eligible to attend these sessions conducted by RISE coaches.
*Uniforms are not included and must be purchased separately. See below for details.
Coaches: Training will be conducted by RISE coaching staff, with low player-to-coach ratios.
Parent Volunteers: Games for U6-U12 will be managed by parent Team Managers.
Training Schedule: Two pool training sessions per week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. We will try our best to accommodate as many practice day requests as possible.
Training Locations
Training Format: Pool/Group training sessions featuring age and developmentally appropriate activities and games focused on fundamental skill development.
U6-U12 Team Formation: RISE Rec staff will form all teams. Prior to team formation, parent volunteer Team Managers (TMs) may request to have one friend (same age group) to be assigned to their child's team. Each team must have a volunteer TM in place prior to Game 1, as parent TMs manage the weekend games. U6-and-above players will play on single-gender teams. Age groups might be combined as needed to create the best possible environment for your player to develop.
Games:
All games for U4 - U12 are played in RISE's In-House League
For more information about the game formats, please see the Game Day Guide.
The success of the RISE Rec program is due in great part to our parent volunteers, so please consider registering as a Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager or Team Parent. While training sessions are conducted by RISE staff coaches, each U6-U12 team will require a parent Team Manager to manage the weekly games as well as coordinate with other parent volunteers to handle the team's basic communications and organizational duties during the season. Please consider volunteering for your child's team.
Additional required equipment all players must purchase separately: shin guards, long socks to cover the shin guards, soccer cleats, and an appropriately sized soccer ball (U4/2021-U8/2017 - Size 3; U9/2016-U12/2013 - Size 4).
SPECIAL REQUESTS: Due to the complexities involved in creating balanced teams and ensuring balanced competition for the large number of players in the RISE Rec program, special requests for specific team or coach/manager assignments will not be accepted, with the exception that parent volunteer Team Managers may make one friend request. Team Manager requests for friends must be communicated to the RISE Rec Administrator prior to team formation within the online volunteer registration form. The requested friend must be in the same age group/gender and registered to RISE Rec prior to team formation.
Once team assignments have been finalized, moving players between teams presents unwieldy logistical challenges as moving one player necessitates moving another in order to keep teams balanced, and so on and so on. For this reason, all RISE Rec team assignments are final and not subject to appeal. Due to time and resource limitations the RISE staff is unable to reply to appeals regarding team assignments. We thank you for your understanding.
RISE REC REFUND POLICY: RISE Rec players who withdraw in writing to the RISE Rec Administrator no later than August 1 (prior to fall season) and January 8 (prior to spring season) will receive a refund of the program fee less a $25 processing fee. Payment processing fees are not refundable. Refund requests received after the deadline or after players have been assigned to teams will not be considered. Players who have been waitlisted may elect to withdraw from the waitlist and receive a full refund.
